Event history / integrations

Each sensing path operates independently, allowing SIGNAL³ to observe different classes of drone-related RF activity simultaneously.

Detect. Correlate. Confirm.

The SIGNAL³ architecture is being developed toward correlation of independent observations into confidence-scored aircraft tracks, allowing multiple sensing paths to reinforce a single detection rather than simply producing separate alerts.

In development

Built as a field appliance, not just an RF receiver.

SIGNAL³ combines sensing, system health, diagnostics and local configuration through a purpose-built operator interface running directly on the unit.

Sensor status

Live state of each RF sensing subsystem.

RF activity

Real-time 5.8 GHz spectrum and detection information.

System health

CPU, memory, storage, uptime and thermal monitoring.

Device health

Sensor faults and recovery status surfaced directly to the operator.

Local positioning

GNSS-based unit positioning architecture with manual fallback.

Wi-Fi management

Local network scan, connection and field provisioning.

Event history

Local detection and event records without a required cloud service.

A detector that monitors itself.

A drone detector is only useful if the operator knows when part of it stops working. SIGNAL³ continuously monitors its sensing hardware and system state, attempts recovery from selected failures, and surfaces actionable fault information through the operator interface.

The detection system does not need the cloud.

Core SIGNAL³ sensing and detection processing runs locally on the unit. No cloud service, external API or licensing server is required for the three sensing paths to operate. Detection records remain local to the system.

  • Local RF processing
  • Local operator interface
  • Local detection records
  • No required cloud telemetry
  • No required internet connection for core sensing

Online map tiles require internet access unless map data has been cached locally.

Passive RF and radar see the problem differently.

Passive RF, SIGNAL³

  • Listens rather than transmitting
  • Can extract identity and telemetry from supported protocols
  • Compact RF sensing architecture
  • No intentional RF emission from the detector
  • Suitable as a complementary airspace-awareness layer

Radar

  • Actively detects physical objects through reflected RF energy
  • Does not depend on a drone transmitting
  • Can detect RF-silent targets
  • May require larger infrastructure depending on system design

These technologies are complementary. SIGNAL³ is designed as the passive RF intelligence layer within an airspace-awareness architecture.

Passive RF detection has different strengths.

Many drones emit RF energy during operation through control links, video transmission, Remote ID or manufacturer-specific protocols. SIGNAL³ is designed to monitor supported RF activity without transmitting into the airspace itself.

A completely RF-silent autonomous aircraft may not be detectable by passive RF alone. For high-security applications, RF detection can form one layer within a wider sensor architecture incorporating technologies such as radar or EO/IR.

Direct answers.

Does SIGNAL³ transmit?

No. Its detection architecture is passive and receive-only.

Does SIGNAL³ require the cloud?

No for core sensing. Core processing occurs locally on the field unit.

Can SIGNAL³ detect every drone?

No passive RF system can guarantee detection of a completely RF-silent aircraft. SIGNAL³ focuses on supported RF-emitting drone activity.

Can SIGNAL³ locate the operator?

Where supported transmissions contain control-station, operator-location or takeoff-location information and SIGNAL³ successfully decodes it, that information can be displayed.

Does SIGNAL³ replace radar?

Not necessarily. Passive RF and radar provide different information and can complement one another.

Does SIGNAL³ jam drones?

No. SIGNAL³ is currently a detection and situational-awareness platform.

Can multiple SIGNAL³ units work together?

Multi-node aggregation is on the product roadmap. Current engineering validation is focused on single-node sensing.

Does SIGNAL³ work without internet?

Core sensing does. Online mapping requires connectivity unless local map data is cached.
